Brachioplasty requires a scar running along the inside or back of the arm. While the scar is long, our surgeons use advanced cosmetic sutures and place it in the most hidden position possible, which fades significantly over a year.
If you have good skin elasticity and only stubborn fat, liposuction alone is sufficient. If you have sagging, loose skin (often called 'batwings'), liposuction alone will make the skin sag more, making an arm lift necessary.
You should keep your arms propped up on pillows above the level of your heart for the first 7 to 10 days to help reduce swelling and throbbing in the hands and forearms.
You must avoid raising your arms above shoulder level or reaching behind your back for the first 3 weeks to prevent placing tension on the inner arm incision lines.
You must wear the custom compression sleeves 24/7 for 4 weeks, and then during the day for another 2 weeks, to minimize swelling and support the arm contours.
