All sutures used inside the vaginal canal are absorbable and will dissolve on their own within 3 to 4 weeks. No stitch removal is required.
While it is physically safe, a subsequent vaginal delivery will stretch the repaired vaginal muscles again, potentially reversing the surgical results. We recommend it after your final pregnancy.
You must keep the external perineal area clean and dry. Wash gently with warm water, avoid douching, wear breathable cotton underwear, and use sanitary pads for minor spotting.
You can walk immediately, but you must avoid swimming pools, bathtubs, running, and heavy lower-body workouts for 6 weeks to protect the healing incisions.
